ForeFlight Mobile EFB App Reviews

Ive got multiple aviation apps. I have tried them all. For me, Foreflight is tops. I use Foreflight on a iPad mini and it has provided great situational awareness and is chock full of features that will help you in your flying. I particularly like the integrated log book. I used to use Logten to keep my logbook up, but I have exclusively moved to Foreflight. I also love how my phone, iPad and desktop are all synced via the cloud. Few other strengths of Foreflight is their outstanding customer service. If you email them during regular hours, you will get a response in very short order. In addition to their fabulous customer service, they are constantly updating their app and adding enhancements. If you havent yet tried Foreflight, quit dallying around and try the best.

Wow let me say thanks for a great product. I made the mistake in buying a competitors product that starts with an F also....lets just say after 90 days of use and not being able to connect to the GPS in the plane the response I received was also an "F" should have bought your product from the get go but wanted to save a couple bucks and had history with the other guy. 30 minutes into setting up ForeFlight and I am way ahead. Thanks again. Keep this up I will keep subscribing!

After a year of consistent use, I have to say this program has become an essential part of every flight. The intuitive briefing, filing, weight & balance etc. gives you all the pertinent information without skipping a beat. The geo referenced IFR procedure plates/airport diagrams is extremely helpful in flight, and helps me stay ahead of the plane.

ForeFlight is the only reason I have an iOS device. I never fly without it and Im consistently impressed by the quality and features of the app. Real life saver for us GA pilots who dont have access to newer glass cockpits. Keep up the great work.

I love the app and all of the great features. I have always said it would be great if foreflight added an electronic logbook and all your aviation needs would be in one app. However any increase in subscription pricing for logbook functions is ridiculous. I understand the subscription for all the publication updates, flight planning, and weather information, but a logbook application is not something that has to be regularly updated. Once the program is created nothing further needs to be done the subscription is not paying for any updated information. LogTen pro has made this same mistake and subsequently lost long time customers.

I am not a pilot, but a very frequent flier who likes to know about turbulence. App is great for that but since I dont need 90% of even the basic plan, I have to find another app that does aviation weather in such a nice display. Wish they had a plan for us frequent fliers who dont need pilot stuff. Would pay for that.

Ive been using Foreflight for several years now. I find it easy to use, with a users manual right at my finger tips if I need to look up something. Their tech support is great, very useful and responsive. Very pleased with it. R. Claypool

Great AP and service, better then $500k worth of avionics. Love it, if it was tsod it would replace your entire panel.

I’ve been using all versions of ForeFlight for ~5 years and it continues to improve and become more and more indispensable.The new Stratus antennae with ADS-B in make it a fantastic “glass” panel for the aircraft with “steam gauges”. Also, very strong support from the company. Fantastic App !!

Not having this would make flying a no-go for me if I was going anywhere outside the local area. It does everything you would want plus a whole lot more

I have tried all flight bag apps and have found foreflight to be the most user friendly app. I only wish this app had better features such as. Synthetic vision on iPhone. Like Garmin Apple watch show frequency information or useful data. Like Aerovie Update the layout. Make it more like Jeppessen

The sectional chart VOR (BZA) has the frequency 116.8 cut off. I cant see what the frequency is and I dont want to keep clicking it to see what the freq is. That whole area has some kind of error that looks like a map glitch. Please fix!!!!

This is hands down the best aviation application you can use in the cockpit. Powerful, intuitive, and easy to use. More features added monthly. The price you pay is completely worth the return!

Garmin pilot is waaay more intuitive and easy to use. In the grand scheme of things both are essentially the same app with all of the same features, but Garmin has a few nice ones that I prefer like their own charts, the ability to search for airports when you dont know the exact identifier. Garmin is also infinitely better as far as being able to tap the map and quickly get the information you actually want about an airport. Now fore flight and Garmin are both garbage on the iPhone, unfortunately. which is ridiculous considering my 6+ is more powerful than my iPad, and represents far less cockpit clutter. both apps are obscenely overpriced, but at least Garmin lets you pay by quarter. I guess flying really is only for rich people these days, and everyone in aviation is cashing in. its sad. I wish my flight school didnt require foreflight because I never would have purchased it otherwise.

Just purchased the military flight bag; what a massive improvement over the NGA Aero App! Would like to see the features beefed up for the iPhone; especially the 5.5" phone. Procedure advisor and the ability to search and file for military training routes and special use airspace would big improvements. In an effort to minimize data usage, the addition of an option to turn off cellular data usage for map loading only would be helpful. I would still use cell data for wx updates and overlays in conjunction with my locally stored maps. Being able to pay by the month or even by quarter would be nice as well. Overall, very pleased with the app. Looking forward to more updates.

First off, the Foreflight Support Team, Josh, Gary, and Mark go above a beyond what they have to do to accomplish the task...!!! This app adds to the enjoyment of flying. I would highly recommend this app to any pilot from the beginner on up. Foreflight is the ninth wonder of the world...

I have used the ForeFlight app for several years now. I recently added the log book feature to the program. In the last 3 years I have had the opportunity to contact their Customer Service people with a question on the program. Both times after emailing them, I received a reply within an hour or 2. I have never had this type of fast service on a program before. The people in customer service have always been very helpful with my questions and they always answer me with in an hour or so, keep up the great work on a great program. I have personally recommended this to several pilot friends of mine.

I have used ForeFlight for 3 years and have been amazed at the thought that is put into this app. Seems every time I think "wouldnt it be cool if…." ForeFlight comes out with an update including that very same thought. It is definitely an app designed by pilots FOR pilots. I also have been very impressed with their customer service dept. Every time I write a letter with a question or concern I get very quick and personal response.
